My first job out of college was in the newsroom of a weekly in the town where I live. I loved that job! The paper was family-owned, but it’s long gone. I am glad there are still newsrooms to work in, but hope you also get a chance to pursue creative writing.

Marie C. I was a journalism major as well, and even though I love my job in the newsroom, I regret not pursuing a second major in creative writing or literature. Perhaps when I pay off the $34,000 I still owe in college loans, I'll pursue the $30,000 master's program in children's literature.

Thanks for introducing us to Marie -- best of luck to both of you!
